Istanbul ~ Wednesday June 1, 2011

In the mornings I am trying to do some sketches - this is more mind exercises in proportions and perspective than final sketches. This was the view I was trying to put on paper this morning before work . . .
The bottom view of the red sculpture . . .

We hung two pieces on the amber sculpture on Tuesday, and will try to get if half done today . . .

Staging for the amber glass pieces. The small red ones each have about 80 pieces. The amber one will have around 140 pieces . . . so we need to open the packing cartons so the Robert has a pallet of shapes and sizes to choose from when choosing which pieces goes where . . .
Eloise and Jay working on the scaffold . . . adding glass pieces one by one . . . wiring and crimping each one in place . . .

We now have lunch in the staff dining room with the other Turkish staff. Here is Luc's choice . . . a Simil, potato salad, rice and potatoes:
My lunch was cucumbers, potatoes, aubergine with tomato sauce, stuffed aubergine, and potato salad: (Then I go to Starbucks next door for a latte . . . and possibly some baklava from the baklava market across the street!)
Some of the electricians having a nap after lunch . . .
The patisserie . . . under construction . . .
Paining the hallways with a colored stucco . . . which is painted on and then smoothed down like plaster . . .
Chandelier is growing . . .

Back to the hotel via the bus. Then a quick shower before having glass of wine at the outside bar. Dinner around 8:30 p.m., after Luc Skyped with is fifth grade class in Vermont, so he could present his report to his class. Dinner finished around 10:15 . . . then time to do the blog . . . and go to bed!
