So I have joined North Palm Beach Rowing Club! (NPBR) while I am here . . .
We row on the intracoastal waterway out of Juno Beach, FL.
On Tuesday February 5, I rowed a double with Gretta,
who has been very kind to show be the ropes . . .
Here is a single launching . . . no dock - you just walk into the sand!
All equipment needs to be soaped and rinsed to keep the salt water
from corroding anything. Here is Linda who is visiting her sister -
She rows out of CT and has rowed in the GMH in Putney!
Rinsing off the oars using a hose . . .
On Tuesday Jean and June came to Delray Beach to do Tina's lunch routine
~ walk to lunch at Lemon Grass, paper store and thrift stores . . .
Here we are waiting for the draw bridge to close so we can cross over.

On Thursday after I got back from a 7:00 a.m. row in a single,
we walked to the Presbyterian Church at the end of the block
and attended their rummage sale. No bargains and prices were high,
but we came home with a new used $1 water can!
Thursday evenings I go to beginning Buddhist Meditation class in Deerfield Beach.

Thursday evenings I go to beginning Buddhist Meditation class in Deerfield Beach.
I got there earlier than expected after running some errands, so I went down to the beach to read and someone was practicing yoga on the beach . . .
You won't be catching me doing yoga in a bathing suit on public beach anytime soon!
On Friday Tina had a lunch date with her friend Coco,
so I met Jean & June for lunch and a walk on the Deerfield Beach beach.
The water was perfect, so June and I have a lovely swim in the ocean,
as the man of war were not swimming that day.
The water was perfect, and the first time June had been in since her visit!
Tina and I went to the movie "Silver Linings Playbook". . .
which was not her cup of tea!
On Saturday we went on a tour of the Unbelievable Acres Botanic Gardens,
a private, nonprofit botanical garden located in West Palm Beach, Florida.
The garden was established in 1970 by Gene Joyner. It is now one of Florida's largest private collections of tropical fruit trees, with a 30 m (100 ft) high tree canopy. The garden contains some 2000 varieties of plants, including more than 160 varieties of fruit trees, with 40 types of citrus, and 35 types of banana and plantain trees. It also includes orchids, bromeliads, palms, and ferns, as well as less well-known plants such as jaboticaba, black sapote, jackfruit, and carambola trees.
I won't bore you will all 75 photos - but here are a few so you see the gardens.
Tina loved tromping through the rainforest, over the layers of rich mulch supporting the vegetation. There are tons of snakes and other animals -
but luckily for everyone else, we did not see any snakes!

I love these pink pineapples. They are edible and you can grow them.
He had them for sale in the nursery. I may have to go back and get one!
Aren't they gorgeous?
Mr. Joyner lead us through his magical garden, telling us about all the various plants.
I forget how many kinds of star fruit he had -and he eats all the various fruit.
He had 10 kinds of avacados alone!
Huge 80' trees!
These edible fruits take a year to ripen!
West Palm Beach airport is next door ~ so ever so often we would look up to an airplane
about to land right over our heads! They have no idea they are flying over a rain forest!
Many kinds of bananas! One bunch grows 8' long with 200 bananas on it!
That is some bunch!
Huge staghorn fern!
Well worth a trip if you are ever here!SO glad I did not see any SNAKES!
Tina's geraniums are thriving!
On Sunday, Jean had a Valentine's cocktail party.
I threw together some veggies to take!
