Simge surprised us by dropping by on her walk from her apartment, to her university to take another one of her seven final exams. It is fun to have her so close by and to visit and see our progress with the chandeliers.
This man was selling pots of basil plants on the street corner, on our way to lunch. He waved his hand across the plants to bring the fragrance to our noses.
Even though some of us have sworn off eating more or so much bread, it is hard to pass up this hot fresh pita bread when it is brought to the table. It is all puffed up and so good with the variety of appetizers.
A view of the Divan Taksim, through the trees on the walk back to the hotel after lunch. Juliana and Kathy are in the foreground . . .
Our new "office" and staging room - which will be the concierge when the hotel is completed.
Jay and Juliana working to put on tiers four and five on chandelier number 3.Time to install the metal frame over the stair well. We will be installing over 140 glass disks we made into the round openings in the metal frame. Each one will have to be screwed into the frame. Hopefully this will be ready to put the glass into tomorrow.
Final tweaking by Jay and Robert on chandelier number three. All done with these three!
Rachel has arrived from Virginia - Luc's cousin and Kathy's niece. She arrived today and was able to easily find the bus that stopped by Taksim Square. Robert walked up the short distance to the bus stop to find her. This is outside the Divan City hotel, and cousins hugging. Welcome Rachel!
