Istanbul - Monday May 23, 2011

Monday - back to work on the second chandelier. It looks wonderful to see them side-by-side . . .

We needed to redo the production schedule, as some items have not been built, so that we cannot put in the glass yet. Also, we are working on the chandeliers first instead of last, because the electrics aren't in yet.
They look like a photo comp!
The lobby bar mirrors getting installed . . .
Simge found us at the hotel! She lives right around the corner, not on the asian side like she did last year . . . she could not be closer. She is busy with seven final exams in the next two weeks, so hopefully we will get together again when she has some time . . .
Juliana and Simge introducing themselves . . .
. . . and Luc . . .
Simge took us up to Istikal Street, and here we are crossing Taksim Square . . .
and walking down Istikal Street . . .

And here is the restaurant that Simge recommended for lunch . . .

And what wonderful food it was! We were all feeling really full from eating everything in sight since we got here . . . so it was hard to restrain everyone from serving us too much and too many dishes.

Simge and Patty - We did meet! In Istanbul - here is the proof!
A flower saleswoman on the street . . .
I worked on getting the pendant lamps ready to be wired . . . These go in the reception and bar areas . . .

Ceiling frame they wanted up last Monday. Apparently this is Turkish time . . . I guess they weren't too specific which Monday!

Cucumbers and green plum vendor outside the hotel on the way back to the hotel . . .
