On Monday we ventured out the the Wakodahatchee Wetlands.
What a treat of boardwalks over a wetlands filled with birds and alligators . . .
Lots of people and lots of cameras with long lenses to catch the nesting birds in their habitat . . .
It was a cloudy day and rained a bit, so we did not stay too long or walk too far.
We will definitely go back soon!
Alligators anyone?
Nesting birds on nests . . . how many can you find?
And this little girl is looking for the alligator under the boardwalk . . .
Too cute!
SO ~ Are you tired of these beautiful sunrises yet?
What if I told you they only get more and more beautiful!
Every morning they are different and seem better than the day before . . .
This is Tuesday January 22nd . . .
Remains of a seagulls' breakfast . . .
Sorry Skye ~ I see this chocolate lab out with his owners almost every morning!
(Dogs are not allowed on the beach, but some owners walk on the beach in front of the private homes, and hope they won't get ticketed.)

And another beautiful sunrise Wednesday January 23rd . . .
Thursday January 24 . . . Every morning Tina picks a beautiful collection of flowers to put by her Buddah and all the photos around the living room. Looks at the color of these hibiscus . . . so many hues and tints and light . . . I will have to get out my box of paints and try to capture some of this magic . . .
On Thursdays I go to the Tibetan Buddhist Center in Deerfield Beach.
This week I went to see what the beach looks like . . .
There is a long pier, where folks fish off the sides . . . reaching out into the sea . . .
This sign is for my canine friends back home . . . "you are missing no thing!"
One of the fisherman baiting his line . . .
Bait ~ wish seagulls circling overhead!
OK ~ this is to fool you ~ looking west to the SUNSET!
Big news this week was to decide to get the sofa reupholstered.
We went and chose some beautiful fabric, and are anxiously waiting for the project to be completed - but this will take 6 weeks or so, as they need to order the new fabric.
Saturday mornings I take a yoga class in Boca Raton. Here is East Boca Yoga, thanks to Jean, who introduced me to Pam our wonderful teacher and EBY studio.
We have plastic membership cards we just scan for the computer when we go in.
Here is Pam, through the window, setting up the computer for class.

This is the "mudroom" outside the studio space, with a little altar . . .
Looking back to the pilates room and entrance . . .
They use a lot of props, including chairs for many poses.
It is very different from the Vinyasa style I am used to with Peter in Vermont.
Folks setting up for class . .
Pam ~ our teacher ~
Then Jean took me to Saquella Cafe, in Boca Raton, after yoga.
So much for any good the yoga did!
(Boca Raton is pretty tony; we have to wait for Maseratis to pull out of parking places, and $388 shoes I covet, and lots of decadence, not unlike Newfane!!! I come back and read Thich Nhat Hanh for a reality check!)

We had a latte and pastry . . .
but I love this ballerina and Superman looking over the pastries . . .
How could one resist????
Delicious breads and pastries, and coffee . . . and they serve B, L & D!
But my soul mate ended up with mint chocolate chip for breakfast -
well really an apres breakfast as she had had breakfast and been to ballet . . .
I just LOVE her shoes!
I brought home croissant and baguette for Tina ~
and we had a super lunch on her terrace~
As it was the full moon, we decided to go to the Holiday Inn outside terrace to watch the moon rise out of the ocean . . .
Except for the thin layer of clouds on the horizon, this was a treat.
Tina enjoyed her Pinot Grigio and ice, and a super dinner
and even a slice of key lime pie! "Devine!"
The Full Wolf Moon . . . low on the horizon . . .
We enjoyed watching it climb up the sky as we dined . . .
And evening crept in, getting darker and the moonlight brighter . . .
When we got back I went down to the beach to take a look at the moonlight on the waves. Families with children playing with glow sticks were shrieking on the beach as one of the fathers caught fish which they gleefully inspected.
You can see a fishing boat out on the reef with its lights on, on the right of the horizon in the photo below. The reef is about a mile out, and all the shells get caught out there. That is why there are few shells on the beach.
Moonlight on the waves . . . lovely!
Sunday I drove up to the North Palm Beach Rowing Club
- for the 2nd time - no one is every there!
At 5:30 p.m. I met some of the folks as there were about to go out for a moonlight row.
Every month for the full moon, the row a couple of miles up to a restaurant, and have a drink on the dock and row back . . .
I hope to row out of NPBRC starting next week! More photos to come.
They row on the inland waterway . . . and can row for miles!
The 5 folks I met seemed really nice and fun.
These photos are from 6:00 a.m. when I was there - and no one was rowing.
They had done an erg fundraiser the day before, so opted not to row in the morning.
I went back at 5:15 p.m. to meet them, but forgot to take photos of their row . . .
Another busy week, with lots of Thai food, some new menus too, and more sunrises.
Now who could beat this? How is the snow up north?
XO
